LIVING GENTLY
HOW WE DO
THIS
Being vegan – food production is less resource intensive than
rearing animals for meat and dairy.
Raise awareness of the benefits of a vegan lifestyle by providing
literature for our guests to read.
Buy
from ethical suppliers & supporting local businesses (whenever possible)
in order to reduce transport in
delivery.
Purchase
electricity from renewable sources.
Grow organic vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers for
ourselves and our guests.
Recycle kitchen
waste into organic compost.
Purchase re-cycled toilet paper.
Use vegan,
eco-friendly toiletries, cleaning and laundry products.
Recycle glass, paper,
plastic containers and aluminium & tin cans.
Encourage
walking & cycling – by loaning local maps and cycles to our guests,
together with packed lunches and drying facilities.
Use
reusable bags for shopping – reduces the amount of plastic going into
landfills.
Choose to
follow natural healing methods.
Support
charities that are ethically run.
WHAT WE PLAN
TO DO
Fit
automatic sensor controlled lights to the stairs and landing.
Install
solar panels to obtain energy to heat domestic water.
Develop
the garden to include a pond with more flowers and shrubs attractive to
wildlife.
HOW OUR
GUESTS CAN HELP
Turn off
lights and turn down radiators when you leave your room.
Leave any
unused towels folded and separate to avoid unnecessary laundry.
Tell us what you like about us and where we can improve.
Feedback is important to us.
